We have spent delightful time among Christian believers in Sri Lanka, sharing like-hearts and like-minds for God’s Kingdom to “come on earth as it is in heaven.” We love to pray together and to seek God’s heart in worship and praise!
For the past year or so, God has moved us to introduce them to “listening prayer.” Though listening in prayer was as a new concept for them, they now consider it to be an essential practice for the church leaders and young ministry interns alike!
Decision-making processes for leaders are more dependent on direction from the Lord, rather than well-constructed human-wisdom plans.
Ministry outreach is more strategic, as the church takes the time to focus and ask for God’s perspective and spiritual preparation before the outreach teams hit the ground!
Even the Sunday School children are learning that God wants to have relationship with them now, not just when they “grow up.” As they learn to listen for His voice, they are growing spiritually strong, well beyond their years.
Many have also come to a place of deep healing from wounds of the past. Seeing the transformation on their faces brings us such joy!
I think we can agree, we all want to hear from God! Let’s pray that our spiritual eyes be opened, like Elijah’s servant. Let’s pray that our spiritual ears be opened, like young Samuel. Let’s pray for spiritually-receptive hearts, so that God’s message reaches deep within our spirits.
What a great foundation is being built!
